Doug Blowers
has been around stock cars all his life, it started with his
father,
he owned and operated a stock
car team in the 1950’s. When Doug was twelve, his father had him
involved in racing Quarter Midgets. In the late 1970’s Doug was
involved in Drag racing. From 1979 to 1986 Doug and seven other
partners owned
and operated Connecticut International Dragway. |
In 1981 Doug introduced
his son and daughter to Quarter Midget racing at Silver City
Quarter
Midget
track in Meriden,
Ct and Little “T” Speedway in Thompson, Ct. His son, Doug Jr. won
six track and regional championships. In 1993, Doug bought a 250cc
Micro Sprint that Doug Jr. raced locally at Whip City Speedway
in Westfield, Ma and other tracks around the country. In 1998 Doug

| They competed
with the American Race Truck Series, racing at different
tracks on the east coast and raced at Indianapolis Race Way Park. |
In 2001 Doug
Jr. took time off from racing and Doug joined a partnership with
Ryan Posocco. Ryan raced with the American Race Truck Series for
two seasons before Doug decided to get out of the American Race
Truck Series. For the 2003 season Doug fielded a Thompson Late
Model team that Ryan drove for two seasons and finished fourth
and third in the points

In the 2005
season Doug raced a full schedule at Stafford Speedway, he
bought a Dare Stock that Melissa Blowers drove. It was Melissa’s
rookie season at Stafford. Doug also continued his relationship
with Ryan, Doug has a Bush North Series car that Ryan drove
on a limited schedule for the 2005 season. In 2006 Melissa
will once again be driving the #15 Dare Stock at Stafford and
Ryan will be driving the #6 Bush North. Also in 2006 Doug Jr.
will be driving the #2 Late Model at Stafford on a limited
basis.
